IEFA BOOK STUDY 
​- 5 week online book study -

This online book study course for Montana educators was facilitated by SSoM IEFA consultant Dottie Susag. Using the book 'Lies My Teacher Told Me: Everything Your American History Teacher Got Wrong' (2018 ed.), participants read about misconceptions, discussed multiple perspectives, and made connections to the Essential Understandings Regarding Montana Indians.

DISCOUNTS were available for SSoM Member School employees, as well as Montana Rural Teacher Project participants!

UNDERSTANDING & SUPPORTING STUDENTS WITH DYSLEXIA

- a self-paced online course, approximately 11 hours -

Designed by consultant and literacy specialist Genevieve Thomas  (Spark Educational Consulting), in partnership with School Services of Montana, this asynchronous, online course engages you in learning experiences that support deepening your understanding of dyslexia, including how the reading process breaks down for individuals with dyslexia. Through videos, resource exploration, reading, and reflection, you will learn research-based best practices for supporting students with dyslexia and other reading disabilities, aligned with the Science of Reading, including instructional strategies, screening and assessment, accommodations, adaptive technology, and more!

IMPLEMENTING PLC'S IN MONTANA SCHOOLS
​- a self-paced course, approximately 3 hours -

​Interested in implementing PLCs but don’t know where to start? This introductory course provides the information and resources you need to explore and implement PLC's in your school or district. With approximately 3 hours of learning over three course modules, you’ll be able to build background knowledge and gain the resources you need to get started, in bite-sized chunks. The three modules included are:
  1. What is a PLC?
  2. Why Implement PLCs?
  3. How to Implement PLCs
This course could be taken on your own to support you with launching and leading professional learning communities, or you may wish to contact us to discuss professional learning support options to accompany this course (see bottom of this page).

TRAUMA-INFORMED APPROACHES FOR EDUCATORS

This online, asynchronous course offering, led by former K-12 teachers and administrators (Dr. Lauren Davis and Dr. Rebecca Buchanan), provides an in-depth look into the physiological and psychological impacts of childhood trauma, also known as adverse childhood experiences (ACEs). This course is intended to benefit both classroom teachers and school administrators, in addition to instructional support personnel. ​45 OPI Renewal Units available PER MODULE!
Module 1 provides a foundational understanding of Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs) and the physiological and neurobiological impacts of childhood trauma.
Module 2 provides learners with classroom and school-level intervention strategies to support our most vulnerable learners.
