School Services of Montana offers a variety of professional learning options to support teachers with the integration of the Essential Understandings Regarding Montana Indians and content standards. Our staff and consultants stay up to date with the latest in resources and implementation strategies. 

​Contact us to discuss a professional learning plan for your IEFA needs. Options include:
  • Customized Professional Learning (in-person or virtual): we will customize the professional learning to support the needs of your teachers and students. Sessions range from 1-1/2 hours to full day sessions. 
  • Regional professional learning institutes: group together with nearby schools to offer a day of learning on a mix of IEFA topics. SSoM will coordinate, contract with presenters, process registration, and communicate details with presenters and participants.

Join us for one or both days of IEFA learning with award-winning Montana educators, Jordann Lankford-Forster (Bright Trail Woman) and Miranda Murray.

The Gallatin Valley IEFA Institute will provide foundational information concerning the seven “Essential Understandings Regarding Montana Indians” and tools to implement Indigenous
content into your curriculum. Participants may not feel comfortable or know where to begin,
and that is okay! The facilitators will provide you with the support and sustainable resources
to advance cultural content and Native resources in your classrooms, no matter where you
are in your IEFA implementation. Participants will gain instruction and crucial essential understandings as diverse perspectives are important for all students’ success.

Cost: $20 per person per day includes lunch : )

  • Participants will learn the Essential Understandings Regarding Montana Indians;
  • Participants will gain ideas concerning the implementation of Indian Education For All and cultural content in the curriculum;
  • ​Participants will broaden their perspective on vetting Native resources and Indigenous Materials.
