School Services of Montana is proud to serve as the authorized representative of Collaborative Classroom programs within Montana. Our Director of Professional Learning designs and facilitates custom virtual and in-person professional learning experiences to support the implementation of Collaborative Classroom programs.

Collaborative Classroom is a national nonprofit organization committed to ensuring that all students become readers, writers, and thinkers who learn from, care for, and respect one another.  As a curriculum publisher, their programs help children develop as proficient readers and writers, appreciate the ideas and opinions of others, learn to agree and disagree respectfully, think critically about big ideas, and become responsible citizens of the world.

Collaborative Classroom Programs Include:
  • Being a Reader - A comprehensive K-5 reading program that integrates foundational skills instruction, practice in reading comprehension strategies, and rich literacy experiences with explicit social skills instruction and activities that foster students’ growth as responsible, caring, and collaborative people.
  • Being a Writer - A comprehensive K-5 writing program that successfully integrates essential components of comprehensive writing instruction and explicit social skills development to foster students’ ability to communicate as writers and become responsible, caring members of the classroom community.
  • Systematic Instruction in Phonological Awareness, Phonics, and Sight Words (SIPPS) - A research-based foundational skills program proven to help both new and struggling readers in grades K–12, including English learners and students identified with dyslexia.
  • Caring School Communities - A comprehensive, research-based social and emotional learning program that builds school-wide community, develops students’ social skills, and enables a transformative stance on discipline.
