Jennifer is the SSoM Marketing & Purchasing Manager, and she has been running the SSoM Co-op Food Program part-time for over 7 years. She works with School Food Service Professionals and administrators, and she recently added pre-K to her program's participation list. Jennifer loves connecting them all to a program that offers steep discounts on food & food service supply items to meet the diverse needs of their district's nutrition programs so they can focus on what's most important - feeding their students.
Jennifer is also the SSoM Marketing gal. In addition to creating & managing the SSoM website, she does a wide array of marketing awesomeness - graphics, brochures, fliers, annual reports, conference banners & tchotchke, and has a slew of SSoM communications-related responsibilities. Jennifer publishes the SSoM Weekly Newsletter - be on the lookout for her red apple in the subject line on Wednesdays. Her favorite part of her job is networking, and she is quoted as saying, "I love it so much I probably came out of the womb networking." On the flip side, she's also attributed with the (unfortunate) quote "Jen's house is where plants go to die." (I guess we all have strengths and weaknesses.)
While Jennifer is "of the Midwest", she considers herself a Montanan, having moved to Clancy, MT in 2nd grade, then graduating from Jefferson High School in Boulder, MT, and earning a Bachelor's Degree in Business-Marketing from Montana State University - Bozeman in 2000. GO CATS! She has worked in sales & marketing (of some sort) her whole adult life, and her favorite part of that journey is using her networking skills at a non-profit.
"I get to build relationships with food service professionals, educators, and school districts across Montana to connect them to services and resources that benefit them. I can't "sell" something I don't believe in, and that's why I'm passionate about working for School Services of Montana."
Jennifer lives in greater Bozeman, MT area with her husband, a goofy rez dog, a spicy senior kitty, 2 dwarf goats, and a flock of sketchy chickens. In her free time, Jennifer...laughs at the idea of free time. She is an entrepreneur and an aspiring author, currently working on her memoir. Jennifer finds joy in DIY home remodel & projects, personal tailoring & sewing, too many arts & crafts (quilting, stained glass, watercolors, landscaping, scrapbooking, etc), and no she won't hem your pants.
